This initiative falls in place with the final preparations for our fourth Farma Valley Winter Fest (2 hours south of Florence), and will be embeddd in our uni*rural* line of work. This is a non-formal master course to reconnect city dwellers and rural communities following our own experience since 2007, from December 2025 to June 2026....it's as if there were a "perfect storm" coming, but with a positive vibe. b) To read more about these initiatives: b1) https://www.pibinko.org/13-11-25-lancio-del-sito-mappare-org/ (in ITALIAN) b2) https://www.unirural.org/en/4th-farma-valley-winter-fest/ (ENGLISH and ITALIAN) b3) https://www.unirural.org/en/project/ and https://www.unirural.org/en/support/ (ENGLISH and ITALIAN) c) all of these programs are ... c1) open to collaborations, c2) not restricted to promoting southern Tuscany (some folks get this impression), but rather to promote methods c3) willing and able to be transposed in other settings (we will be glad to train other folks, within the uni*rural* framework) - please write to segreteria at unirural.org if you would like to learn more or to propose a collaboration (we are currently a bit undersized in terms of developers, and may have opportunities to share at different levels (from college-student or PhD level work, to potential contracts in projects) Thank you for your attention, and best regards from Southern Tuscany! I would like to point out two items on the wiki page: 1. Since I stepped down from the Conference Committee about two months ago, please remove my name from the voting members. 1. There is still an incorrect date in the Letters of Intent section. ?Accepted until December 22, 2026? should be changed to December 22, 2025. Big thanks and compliments to the organizers, volunteers, Auckland University of Technology, sponsors, participants and all presenters and workshop organizers! I'm sure many of us left inspired and in good spirit. The conference also made clear why we put time into this community of like minded people, in organizing FOSS4G conferences and in the OSGeo foundation. One of the things that I've put time in over the last two years is talking with people in the community and on the OSGeo Board about the future of OSGeo. This has resulted in a discussion paper that I would like to put out for comments in this forum, and preferably on the document itself. I would therefore like to invite you to read it and provide your valuable insights and suggestions so we can move forward and strengthen OSGeo and our mission. The document can be found here . It can not be edited, but it can be commented on. I'll then take the time to review those comments to come up with an improved version, out of which I hope we can formulate a number of actions and proposals that can be moved to the OSGeo Board for further action. Looking forward to hear from you! For a future proof OSGeo! Jeroen Member of the Board of Directors of OSGeo -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
