You may be missing how spread our leaders are and how they often have responsibilities to represent their communities, projects and employers.

Also there is this distraction of trying to attend a conference you paid to attended. As you recall in 2009 it was very hard to ask for volunteers due to this tension - making the both into a meeting place is a good idea. In also remember it turning into a USB factory in Denver.

On Sat, Mar 12, 2016 at 8:41 PM Cameron Shorter <cameron.shorter@gmail.com> wrote:

Am I missing something?
At my only FOSS4G event I've managed to attend, (in 2009), I wanted to
be at the OSGeo booth. It was the place that people came to talk about
OSGeo and an excellent place to meet people.

I'd be inclined to suggest that if you are a community leader, possibly
someone already listed on the OSGeo Advocates list, then my not plan to
hang out and meet interesting people at the OSGeo booth.

FOSS4G Organising committee, I suggest setting your base as the OSGeo
Booth. People and people will come looking for you there.
