[DotNet-OSGeo] geographic coordinates

hej all DotNet'ters

I've been reading some .shp-files and has come across a type of geographic
coordinates that does not seem familiar to me. It's presumably data from
the US continent. I assumed that it was arcSec, but the max-values exceeds
60*60*360
x.max 1740000
x.min 826000
y.max 1540000
y.min 377000
Can you suggest a source of information?
