I agree totally on coordination and having one point person leading this
and communicating with Mellon. I have no concerns here other than
wanting to see OSgeo.edu getting more funding and resources to move
forward. If someone wants to take the lead on this that is fine with me.
But it seems like an opportunity that should not be passed up.

Well, there certainly are two angles here: education material and
scholarly communication around "open content" curriculum, and then also
probably a software development angle. And maybe something unique in
terms of how some of the software represented in Osgeo recruit and
develop further developers?
