Hi All,

More tomorrow on the FreeGIS book email. But I did want to comment on a couple
of Venka's points:

Quoting Venkatesh Raghavan <raghavan at media.osaka-cu.ac.jp>:

> single "OSGeo-Edu Approved" course.

I don't think a "OSGeo-approved" course should be the goal for this year or at
least for the next 6 months. I think we need a system that allows us to
inventory what people are doing knowing that some (maybe a lot) will be on
outside OSGeo hosted servers.

And we have 5 course entries now at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Educational_Content_Inventory
(Ian Turton has posted a link to his Web Mapping course - THANKS IAN!). And
there are others (Ned Horning, Gary Watry) that might provide access to their
content in the future.

OTHERS WHO ARE LURKING: If you haven't yet, please post entries for your
educational content on the above URL.

But maybe the wiki listing system is enough for now? What I don't like is that
you can't search for modules -- which I think limits it.

> Course 2) Introduction to OSGeo Webmapping software

These are great goals. But are there people on this list who want to collaborate
to do these?

I think we should inventory what people are PLANNING on doing this next year.
I've added this new page to our todo list:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Commitments_for_New_Material_Development

Please add an entry for yourself, folks.

Thanks!
Charlie
