Hi OSgeo edu folks-

I'm sending the attached email not to boast, but as an example of what
we are working for. I hope others will continue to develop tutorial
modules and make them available. The more modules we get out there and
in a way people can find them the more momentum we will build.

(If you haven't read Yochai Benkler's The Wealth of Networks and
particularly Chapter 3 on Peer-Production and Sharing (and what he calls
Commons-Based Peer-Production), you might consider doing so--this is
really what we are trying to build. See
http://www.benkler.org/wonchapters.html)

On our end, we're finalizing on an example of the docbook approach to
tutorial building (as a possible format) and are converting our
QGIS/GRASS tutorials to this format. This is only one possible format
(e.g., Latex, others).

Perhaps more importantly, we're starting to look at a Subversion system
for version control and the wiki for a library/search system. I hope in
the month of March we'll have that set up for others to try out and
comment on.

Cheers
Charlie
