[OSGeo-Edu] Questions on LaTex Paragraph Formatting and Changing Overall Document Font

O.K. - I've got a couple more LaTex questions.

The first has to do with switching the default font family for the
entire document. I'd like to use the serif family instead of the roman
family. I know that I can do this with the \textsf command, but I'm not
sure where to put this command so that it applies to the entire
document.

The second question has to do with the removal of sequential numbers on
the section headings. I know I can do this with the /sectnumber command.
Where do I place this command so that it applies to the entire document?
Is the correct form "/sectnumber{-2}" ?

The third question deals with the formatting of the first word in a
paragraph. Right now the paragraphs have the first letter in the word
bigger and a weird gap between the first letter in the word and the
second letter in the word. Any idea how I modify the style of the first
line of a paragraph?

Thanks for all of the help.

Landon

P.S. - Does anyone know if there is a LaTex document class for
encyclopedia's or dictionaries? If there isn't maybe I should define my
own document class?
