[OSGeo-Edu] "OSGeo Teach-in" event proposal

I like the way this is shaping up but I'm not sure I feel totally
comfortable letting the decision to use of the OSGeo logo rest solely
with the author. I'm not sure if the Marketing folks would be thrilled
with that. Would it make sense to create an OSGeo Education logo that
can be used instead? My thinking is that having a separate EDU logo
would provide OSGeo publicity but reduce the risk of diluting the status
of the OSGeo logo. I have no idea if this is sensible or not.

I would suggest that some control over the use of the logo be maintained
by OSGeo rather than making it a free-for-all. If authors, at a minimum,
demonstrate that they are indeed following spirit of the text in the
header (contributing to the OSGeo repository, open access content, open
source geospatial focus...) then they could be authorized to use the
logo. A simple approval process and resolution process for cases not
approved could be established to ensure a minimum set of standards are met.

All the best,

Ned
