Part-time lecturer, Web mapping and open source GIS
Spring 2011
The Clark University Department of International Development, Community and Environment in Worcester, Massachusetts seeks a qualified candidate to teach Web mapping and open source GIS during the spring semester 2011.  The course is designed to introduce web mapping with open source GIS tools to graduate and undergraduate students from a variety of backgrounds. Intro to GIS and Programming for GIS are two prerequisites for this course. The course is currently scheduled to be taught once a week, from 6-9 pm (with a lab session once a week in the afternoon). Maximum enrollment: 20 students.
Qualifications: A Masters degree is required; Ph.D. or ABD status in a Doctoral program is preferred. Experience with HTML, GDAL, MapServer, ArcGIS Server, Google Maps API , Google Earth KML, and Quantum GIS is required. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
