[ELGIS] Who (really) needs spatialite support in GDAL for EL5?

Hello,

on Enterprise Linux 5, we have this issue
http://trac.osgeo.org/el/ticket/7 with GDAL which actually requires to
update the base sqlite.

I will try again to have spatialite working with base sqlite.
But in the (likely) case that it doesn't work, could we consider
dropping spatialite support in GDAL for EL5?
(people who need it can use EL6, where it works)
