[fdo-internals] resetting a feature reader

Hi,
While the environment that Traian is concerned about may not be an issue
for risk of dirty data, we don't control the context in which other
develoeprs use the api. In a multi-user environment you may run into
cases where the data changes from one exec to the next. So, is the
implication of the reset/re-exec that you get a replay of the features
that you just got or a new exec that gives you up to date results? I
supposed the SHP and SDF providers could check the timestamp of the file
to determine if the cached feat id's are still reliable.
Thanks,
Orest.

The former.

Is this risk for dirty data just for a single query or for the length of
the cached provider connection? I'm not clear on the process.
If it's the latter, the this will have real implications for AVL apps
based on MapGuide where the data is changing underneath the app
constantly.

That's true if you cache the select command. Can that also happen while
you are working with a single feature reader though (and taking your
time with it while someone inserts or changes things behind your back)?
All those cases are mostly theoretical in the case of MapGuide though.

I can see a defect coming...what happen to those records I just
inserted? BTW. That can be an other connection/thread/process that
inserted those records.
