[fdo-internals] Mapguide and Single theaded FDO Provider

Hi All,

I am working on a single threaded FDO provider and there NO way to make it multithreaded.
It works nicely in AutoCAD MAP and just started testing it in Mapguide. I haven't spent too much time in Mapguide yet but seems that just "out of the box" my provider will not work.

Do you guys know of anything special in Mapguide which would prevent my single threaded FDO provider from working properly?
Is there anything I should explicitly do in my FDO provider?

I did have a look at the GDAL provider and I have seen that it uses a Mutex in a few places to control thread access to parts of code. Is that necessary?
I have seen that in the past there were some issues with Mapguide and the single threaded GDAL provider.

I would appreciate any input which would  contribute to shortening my research about my Mapguide and FDO provider integration.
