I am sorry, I gave you the wrong user name for anonymous access... I
checked again and it is "cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org"

Can you please try again with
CVSROOT=:pserver:cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org:/cvs/maptools/cvsroot
