Comment:

 I believe that this may be related to #119, but also...

 When this provider was initially being developed, there were some defects
 in underlying PostGIS functions (such as estimated_extent) where quotes
 were not being passed through the functions intact.

 I believe that Paul was going to fix this for version 1.2.1+ of PostGIS,
 but I'm not entirely sure that this happenned.
