New description:

 {{{
 warmerda at gdal64[52]% ./build_thirdparty.sh
 Configuring FDO Makefiles
 acinclude.m4:7: warning: underquoted definition of FDO_HELP_STRING
 acinclude.m4:7:   run info '(automake)Extending aclocal'
 acinclude.m4:7:   or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/automake.html
 #Extending-aclocal
 }}}

 This occurs on my ubuntu 7.10 system running autoconf 2.61.

 I'll work on a quoting fix. The problem is not serious as far as I know.
 I think it just produces the somewhat alarming warning at the beginning of
 the build but otherwise works fine.

Comment:

 No longer valid as autotools has long been replaced with CMake
