hi Jason ( and others ),
NEN1878 is an exchange format ( flat ASCII-files ) used to exchange the
http://www.gbkn.nl/nieuwesite/html/engelsesite.html Large Scale Standard Map
of The Netherlands ( GBKN ) between Dutch Cadastre, Municipalities, Survey
& Engeneering companies etc.etc.
NEN1878 is also used to exchange Topographic ( Top10Vector ) maps - same
fileformat, other classification system
ESRI, Bentley & others have developped converters from/to NEN1878
A lot of the Autodesk resellers/developers have done the same NEN to/from
DWG and DWG into SDF ( MG6.5 )
Sometimes NEN into DWG ( or SDF ) conversions are necessary, but most of the
time the NEN-files are just used for background into Mapping, WebMapping &
Civil projects
greetings Bert ( a friend of Piet )
