Hi, Thomas. You might want to try the MapGuide mailing list. Its API, running on top of FDO with largely the same style, supports SWIG, which hopefully would make this sort of integration easier.

Subject: [fdo-users] FDO and Java
Hi,
We have a Java application that deals with spatial information. The information is currently stored in an Oracle database. We are considering integrating FDO technology with the Java application to have a more flexible backend to the system. Did anyone try integrating Java and FDO already? If yes, would it be possible to share some of the experience that was made in the process?
Thanks
Thomas
