[fdo-users] OSM shape file limitations using with FDO due to : in column names

I've been playing around with some of the OSM shape file exports

alas, FDO doesn't like the some of column conventions used

 Error: An exception occurred in FDO component.
        Invalid Feature schema element name 'ADDR:CITY'; must not contain ':'

which is because the feature class used : as a delimiter

as OSM data is pretty common and getting more and more popular,
would it be possible to remap those : characters to something else ie "_"
rather than just throwing an error and failing ?

i doubt many shape files have identical column names which only differ
between ":" and "_"

even without remapping, it would be nice if such incompatible columns could
just be ignored in the interim
