[Fdo_dev] About RDBI's get_gen_id() function

I am not sure what the concern here is. There is no foreseen limitations
on submissions to the trunks of any of our providers. The only
limitations would be to branches that will be used to support the
upcoming Hammerhead and Bond releases of Map products.

We've been committing code for over a week into the 3.2.x branch. As far
as I know everything is ok.
How often you need to change code that is not specific to PostGIS
provider? This particular change seems to be a no-op as far as the other
providers and I'm wondering if this is an isolated an rare event, it
should probably be merged sooner than later into the main branches. We
don't want to end up at one point in the future not being able to
integrate the PostGIS provider because we would not be allowed to make
such a change to other providers.

Greg, Badreddine,
Yes, that's perfectly clear to me that I'm working on my
private branch now, so all changes on other components than PostGIS
provider go there too and should be reviewed.
Also, I've not yet started to use the new FDO repositories after the
migration, as I'd prefer to wait until everything works well.
Do you recommend to start committing now (to my private branch) ?
