[Featureserver] simplejson version

Hi All,

Trunk's readme mentions to install simplejson-1.7.1.  Current version is
2.0.9.  Any problem with that ? 

Also, there is a mention on the simlejson download site
(http://pypi.python.org/pypi/simplejson/) about "an optional C extension
for a serious speed boost".  I haven't noticed particular slowness with
3000 point features, but would the story be different with polygons ?
Anyone ever used the compiled extension ?
