[FOSS-GPS] Anyone using GPX 1.1? Thoughts on 1.1 vs. 1.0?

Is anyone supporting, or intending to support GPX 1.1 in their projects?

Maybe with Garmin's TrackpointExtension to account for features
that were in GPX 1.0 but which were removed from GPX 1.1
(or features that weren't even in GPX 1.0)?

Alternately, if you are (or know another maintainer/project who is)
doing GPX 1.1 with a *different* extension schema for things like
speed, course, etc., which extension(s) are you using?
