Hello,
I am new to this list, so please be gentle if this message is off-topic!
I am (together with other contributors) the author of Total Open
Station [0], a software to download topographical survey data from
total stations and convert it into decent™ formats.
A colleague is asking me if we are able to support conversion of data
obtained with a Leica TPS, that is in binary format (most other
formats are non-standard but ASCII-based thus intelligible). If I
understand correctly the data files contain both position data of
surveyed points and fixes from a base station, so that's actually a
GPS device. You can take a look at sample data in our issue tracker [1].
While this is slightly more than what we are doing for other formats
so far, I think it would be useful to have an open source
implementation of this format, that is otherwise only readable with
Leica GeoOffice.
Do you have any hints or first hand experience with that format?
Thanks, ciao
steko
