[FOSS-GPS] An introduction and sourcing maps

Hi all,

I was looking for a way to run offline gps on a raspberry pi 5 and came
across this list. Has anyone done this before?

There are plenty of gps receiver modules. However, what did you do for map
sources? I am aware of open street maps. Are there any other sources?

I need only the text names of the places along with their longitude and
latitude.
