No problem Cameron, I've made the switch.

Jonah just confirming your organisation is Geoscience Australia? Can you
also provide a contact number? I've sent you the email confirmation which
has a link to use to register before the 31st Jan.

Kind regards,

Alicia

Hi Alicia,

Would it be okay if we handed our OSGeo presentation over to Jonah Sullivan?

Jonah has been actively involved in the local chapter of the Open Source
Geospatial Foundation, including helping to organise our conference. He is
also already scheduled to attend.

Alicia, Jonah,

I'll leave it up to you to coordinate remaining details.

Warm regards, Cameron

I'd love to, but my funding situation is the same as yours :). My other
paper wasn't accepted, making the trip hard(er) to justify.

Cheers, and thanks! Great talk idea.

Thanks Jonah for offering to present. Does anyone else want to challenge
Jonah for the honour? Greg? Adam? Alex?

I was planning to use the slide deck I used at foss4g (which can now be
extended from 5 to 12 mins)

Title: Learning the Open Source Geospatial toolkit in five minutes

Abstract:

Last November there was a four day conference dedicated to free and open
source software held in Melbourne. It attracted over 200 people, twice as
many as expected. Organisations are adopting these technologies, people are
being trained in it and job advertisements request these skills.

Want to learn what the all the buzz is about? This presentation summarises
the key open geospatial technologies in a five minute elevator pitch.

Presenter

Cameron Shorter

By day, Cameron is a Software, Information and Geospatial Business Analyst.
By night he helps build open source communities, mainly in the geospatial
domain. Over the last couple of decades he has contributed to numerous open
source projects, some of which he started. He's contributed to the Open
Source Geospatial (OSGeo) foundation board, to OSGeo committees, has
co-authored many strategies and processes, and is one of the coordinators of
OSGeoLive.

Hi Alicia,

We have been discussing the Open Source Geospatial Foundation's presence at
Locate, and some of our board members are planning to attend, and I
understand will be available to present. How would you like us to proceed re
transferring speakers?

Warm regards, Cameron

Dear Cameron,

We're sorry to hear this news. At this stage we have other people on a
waiting list who would be registering to attend so unless there is someone
who can present on your behalf and register as a speaker, we'll have to
withdraw your paper and offer the spot to the next person.

Kind regards,

Alicia Smith

 <http://www.locateconference.com/2019> Hi,

<http://www.locateconference.com/2019> Much as I'd love to come to Locate,
I'm reluctantly going to have to decline. (My employer is not in a position
to be able to cover my attendance.).

 <http://www.locateconference.com/2019>

<http://www.locateconference.com/2019> However, if you like I can reach out
other board members of our local chapter of the Open Source Geospatial
Foundation, some of who live in Melbourne. I expect that one of them would
be prepared to present if they could get a free pass for the session they
are presenting at.
