Tour hosts does this through the expression of interest form. All of the
information that is entered into the form is kept in a database and we
can then send them marketing information about the conference.

Clarification Note: I'm not anticipating most delegates would actually
want to be on the list.  I'm assuming when they register they should
automatically go on a (low traffic) list managed internally by TH for
any announcements relevant to delegates.  The purpose of advertising the
list afaics is simple one of default openness.

Maybe much more useful to "outsiders" following the conf would be the
twitter feed or a conf blog rss feed?
