We are looking for people to coordinate some of the foss4g activities.
See below ...
Early bird registration closed on Friday, and I'm expecting to find out
how many people have registered from Arinex today.
The next phase is for us to get delegates to sign up for the less
structured activities. So I propose:
1. I send out a press release to pontential sponsors around Wednesday
this week, saying "lots of people registered, you should sponsor".
Bruce and I have started here:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_Press_Release_25
2. Send a press release to delegates and attendees inviting them to sign
up for the extra activities. We can send this ~ Wed - Friday.
3. Before sending the release out (over the next couple of days) we need:
a. At least one, and preferably two people to act as coordinators for
the following activities. This involves being the point of contact for
community members to ask questions, coordinate wiki page and any
resources required, and then to make sure everything runs smoothly at
foss4g.
The list of activities:
* Climate Challenge Integration Plugfest

(Raj from OGC)
* Live DVD <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_Live_DVD>
* Code Sprint <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_Code_Sprint>
* Posters <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_Posters>
* InstallFest <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_InstallFest>
* Birds of a Feather
<http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_BirdsOfAFeather>
* Volunteers <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009_Volunteers>
(See links from: http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2009)
Most of these coordinating roles should have a light workload, but it
does require a responsible person prepared to chase down issues as they
arise.
