Hi all,

Here are the list of issues that I would like
addressed at FOSS4G2010 and FOSS4G201X

1) All presentations, expect keynote and lightning
talk to be 20 minutes duration. This way we can
have more diversity and less rejections, longer
breaks for people to mingle in the exhibition booths.

2) Some of the papers in academic session that are
not selected for oral presentation could be selected
as poster presentation with out sending out extra
call for posters.

3) Assign longer core-time (90 minutes) for poster
for authors to be present in front of their posters
to answer questions.

4) Assign some specific core time for visit to
exhibitor booths so that exhibitors get assured
audience attendance.

5) Special registration rates for students and
participants form non-OECD member states.

6) Award for best oral and poster presentation by
student in academic session

7) Negotiate in advance with publisher for publication
of special issue in scientific journal based on
papers presented in academic session. Have the chair
of sessions selection best paper from their respective
session for the special issue. If there are more papers
than can be accommodated in a single special issue,
negotiate with more publishers for special issues.

8) Try to have the Birds of Feather in the morning
and not when every one wants to rush for the Gala dinner.

9) OSGeo Gold Card status for folks who have not missed any
of the 5 FOSS4G meetings including Barcelona. The Gold
Card holder should have possibility to avail 20% discount
in early registration. In future, Gold Card membership
could be offered to those who have attend 5 OSGeo conferences
and atleast one in every two years.

10) Invite Sol Katz's daughter (fully paid) to
hand out the award.

11) More than one free (as in Free beer!)
drink at ice breaker. Last time we did not
have even one.

12) Don't have tables and chairs at the gala dinner.

Best

Venka
