[Foss4g2013] FOSS4G 2013 Update

Hi All,

Apologies for cross-posting. Cameron's super breakdown of lessons that can
be learnt from FOSS4G 2012 has prompted me to do a quick update about
what's happening with FOSS4G 2013.

Our chairman is on holiday at the moment, as is our key contact at the
venue, but we're expecting a contract from them when she returns next week.
We were promised that it would be done on Monday 20th but we'll give her a
couple of days grace I think. Behind the scenes our various subgroups
(comms, codesprint etc) are starting to get things done- we're gearing up
for our big face-to-face action meeting on September 6th, after OSGIS.

I'm mindful of the fact that everyone would appreciate regular
communications from us on how things are going- there's a lot of lessons to
be learnt from Cameron's precis, so we will do our best to keep you
informed and if you don't think you've heard enough from us then don't
hesitate to get in touch, either via Peter Batty as the official OSGeo
Board Liaison or to Steven Feldman, conference chair, or Jeremy Morley or
me as Deputy Chairs.
