Speaking of things quintessentially Portland, I spend every September as a volunteer for the Audubon Society at Swift Watch, answering questions about the Vaux's Swifts. The swifts do an amazing performance at Chapman School every night to a large crowd of Portlanders. It is a big party-like atmosphere, and it is very common for groups to have catered dinner parties.

I would be willing to organize such an outing, including Audubon volunteers to answer questions.

In addition, there is quite a bit of data on the http://vauxhappening.org website, which would be wonderful to map.
