That is a good idea to make it overwhelmingly obvious on the homepage
that FOSS4G is in Portland, Oregon, USA. We've made some changes
towards that.
PDX is a local name for the City and area but it is also the airport
code. It is possible to fly to "other Portlands" several thousand
miles away and we don't want that, that is part of our emphasis on
PDX.

I've also added a link to OSM on the getting to Portland page,
https://2014.foss4g.org/getting-to-portland/ so people can pan and
zoom around and see Portland in relation to things they already know.
