Hi LOC,
Meanwhile that thread has been stripped from its paranoia and other
fuzz.

Whether or not you agreee with Maxi, at least this recent post sums it
up cleary,
and I think it is good to have a common LOC-sense about what we
a) regard tools such as Mailchimp valuable and
b) regards mailing lists that have been compiled for other FOSS4G's (and
related events) as usable for FOSS4G 2016.
If wanted we can differentiate in these tools to attract:
a) sponsors and
b) attendees
