[FOSS4G2016] Open data and UN

Hi LOC,
I just stumbled upon a nice data portal "The Humanitarian
Data Exchange" [1], which is done by the UN Office for the Coordination
of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA). They've also plenty of things of they
actual platform open source [2].
Given open data is a topic for the FOSS4G and we are in an UN city it
would be great get something about it into the conference.
I know there are lots of data portals out there, but not many of them
are well done and often (important for me at least) they are not
developing the platforms itself as open source, but only use open source
components.
Any thoughts (even if they are "we already have enough stuff already" :)?
