Hi Doug, If you want to hook the local press you'd want to go with something that effected the world at large. Like a HOTOSM sprint. You could run it as something for people who are intimidated by the code sprint. And you could do it on the workshop days in the evenings, when people are kind of sad and depressed because they haven't met anyone yet and there is nothing to do. You could bring the local osm group in and have a good time.
