 Alan, I think the existing API can be used and there doesn't need to be a
 new widget.  At the end of the [wiki:MapGuideTutorial] is a description of
 how to use the selection API (not sure if it is up to date) - this should
 be rewritten as a cookbook recipe and users wanting to customize the
 selection output could start there.  The new recipe should include a
 complete functional example that can be added to a Fusion application
 outside of the widget structure.
