 In !MapGuide it is possible to specify, in a map definition, whether a
 layer is initially displayed in the map. In MG Studio, for example, this
 is configured using the "Layer is initially displayed in the map" checkbox
 in the map editor.

 When the map is loaded in a Fusion application, the legend displays the
 layer as checked. A layer that is not initially visible will still not be
 rendered initially, but the checkbox is misleading, and must be un-checked
 and re-checked in order to get the layer to show up.
