Comment:

 by "no longer works" do you mean the layers don't load at all? or the
 original problem where the overlay doesn't follow the baselayer?

 I have found an OpenLayers bug
 (http://trac.osgeo.org/openlayers/ticket/3160) that causes the layer to
 not be displayed at all and I have commit an updated OpenLayers library
 with this fix to the 2.2 branch [2341].

 Please re-open if there is still an issue.
