[Gdal-dev] Error converting UK .NTD MERIDIAN files

I am trying to convert a number of UK .NTF MERIDIAN files to a shape
file using OGR and get the following error messages
 
ERROR 1: Attempt to read 32 to 37, beyond the end of 36 byte long type
'16' record.
 
The numbers 32 and 37 are different for each file
 
Some tiles seem to convert OK but others are missing in the final .SHP
file
 
Any help would be appreciated
