Carlos,
I tried your solution and it worked!! I'm creating shapefiles from oracle
spatial layers in a batch file to
use as flexible snapshots for mapserver. Thanx, otherwise I would have to
compile my own version
on cygwin o.i.d. and that sure would have taken me a week or so........
