A Windows (brand-new MSVC 7.1) binary release of GDAL 1.2.0 is at:
 http://vterrain.org/dist/gdal-120-ntbin.zip (2.55 MB)

I recommend linking to it, my server can handle the traffic.  It's good to
have a link to GDAL for Windows that doesn't involve the rest of the OpenEV
package.
