xqcheng,

GDAL has not explicit support for photogrammetry geometry models.  This
means that uncorrected airphotos will be treated just as raw images by
GDAL and no mensuration or similar tasks can be done on the image.  Of
course, a "rectified" airphoto is no problem with GDAL.

This is true, but fairly easily corrected.  Can you provide details
of where you have encountered problems?  What improvements you see as
needed?
