OK, I concur that the dependencies should not appear in the --libs
output if they aren't needed to link against whatever GDAL library is
listed in --libs.
I have had reports that on MacOS the shared libraries do not carry
their dependencies along with them ... that the supporting libraries
need to be explicitly listed. Can anyone confirm that? Can anyone provide
an account on a MacOS X system I can use for build testing?
