Frank and Louis,

I think the problem is Louis is using the IDE to compile the project.
He should just use the makefile from the command line.  That works every
time.

Louis,

I normally build with VC6 myself.  Unless some specific support library
(like JasPer?) requires VC7 you should be fine with VC6.
