Folks,

Despite reporting that the problem with multiband overviews was fixed in
the 1.2.4 release, it seems that it was fixed in libtiff, but that the
appropriate libtiff updates never made it into the GDAL source tree.  I plan
to release a 1.2.5 within the next few days to rectify this.  In the meantime,
anyone needing to build overviews for files should consider upgrading to the
nightly snapshot of GDAL.
