[Gdal-dev] How to use GeodataTorrent of SRTM30+

Frank & Co,

I was intrigued by the Geodata Torrent concept at:

http://uo.space.frot.org/?node=GeodataTorrents

and very interested also in getting a geotiff copy of SRTM30+, so I pointed
BitTornado at <http://fwtools.maptools.org/data/srtm30plus.tif.torrent> but 
received nothing.

Are there tricks or issues that we should know about with this approach to 
distribution of Geodata?
