Stephan,

I would suggest a "make clean ; make" to ensure that all the correct
files were re-compiled when you added in OCI support.  I don't know
how you have your shared library searching setup but it does seem
likely that you are picking up an old libgdal.so in /usr/local/lib so
I would suggest installing and then trying again.
