Hi all,
This is a quick update on the release plans for the ECW JPEG 2000 SDK 3.3 given the considerable
interest in this version.
The SDK is undergoing final testing, and will be released shortly once some final QC is complete for
the Solaris version (the main thing holding up the release).
Due to the many beta testers, version 3.3 is going straight into Release Candidate once released.
If you would like to get an advance copy of the SDK before it goes online, please email
devsupport at ermapper.com.au (although we do expect to have the new SDK out very soon).
As previously noted, version 3.3 includes the following enhancements:
* Numerous bug fixes and enhancements, including:
- functional ECWP on platforms other than Windows
- fix to lossless JPEG 2000 compression
* Removal of the restriction on distribution of "Server Software" from the GPL-style Public Use
License Agreement
* Bug fixed in lossless JPEG 2000 compression, where previously a tiny fraction of pixels would be
compressed with a value +/-1 with respect to the input
* Functional static library builds for NCSEcw, NCSUtil, and NCScnet
* A new build structure called "libecwj2" providing single-library shared and static builds
* libecwj2 makefiles for gcc/g++ on Solaris, Linux and Mac OS X
* inclusion of the sample code that formerly shipped with the binary distribution, together with
makefiles for the libecwj2 shared and static libraries
