[Gdal-dev] ECW Support

I would like to enable ECW support in gdal for use in GRASS. I'm using  
CYGWIN. Is there a way to enable this support without rebuilding GDAL? If  
not, how do I know which version of GDAL source to use with my version of  
GRASS? Do I need to recompile GRASS as well, or can I just compile GDAL?  
Are there directions on how to enable ECW support somewhere? I have a  
deadline to deliver some ECW files tomorrow, so any help you can provide  
would be greatly appreciated.
