Nope, unfortunately I'm trying to do something more complicated... 
wrapping OGR in a datastore so that Geotools can leverage it to support
more data formats :-)
So, I guess my questions will be more on the theoretical side compared 
to a OGR utility user :-)
I have a lot more questions and issues, but I'll keep them coming at a 
slow pace. :-)
