[Gdal-dev] OGR support for KML reading?

Hello,
 
I'm new to GDAL and OGR, and can't locate the answer to my question in
the Archives.
 
When I issue the 'ogrinfo --formats' command, it indicates read/write
capability for the KML format, but this page contradicts that, saying
KML support is write-only:
http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_kml.html
 
Can anyone clarify this?
