[Gdal-dev] max size of image using gdaltranslate and gdalwarp

hi.

gdaltranslate and gdalwarp are used to geo-reference a raster imagery.

can anyone tell me what is the maximum size of the imagery that it can 
handle..

can this handle images upto 4 GB in Size.. 

please confirm.
